Is AION 2 free to play?
Yes. AION 2 Global is free to play on Windows PC through Steam and NCSOFT PURPLE, and launched on October 5, 2026. An optional $15 membership mainly unlocks the Market; see is membership worth it.
What are the AION 2 system requirements?

The minimum spec targets 1080p at Very Low settings and the recommended spec 1080p at Low, so plan for more if you want high settings.
Does AION 2 have crossplay?
- Steam and PURPLE: yes. Both launchers connect to the same regional Global servers.
- Mobile and console: no. Global is PC-only; crossplay with mobile exists only on the Korean and Taiwanese servers. See Global vs Korea.
Can you use a controller or Steam Deck?
- Controller: works, but not officially supported; some menus and functions may not work correctly.
- Steam Deck, Linux and Mac: not supported. Even if it starts through Proton, anti-cheat, input and patches may break it.
Which class should a new player pick?
Gladiator is the easiest; Templar, Ranger and Cleric are also beginner-friendly. Take the which class should I play quiz or read the classes guide.
Where should a new player start?
Follow the beginner guide for your first week, redeem any active codes, and check the reset timer so you don’t waste weekly caps.
